Visionstream Australia Pty Ltd (Visionstream), part of Leighton Contractors, has been awarded a significant contract with NBNCo initially worth $334 Million for the roll out of the National Broadband Network in Victoria, Queensland and southern New South Wales. Visionstream has been awarded three work packages comprising Passive Fibre Network Design and Construction to bring high speed, fibre optic broadband to Melbourne, Brisbane and southern New South Wales including Wollongong.

The contract is for two years, with options for two extensions of one year each with a combined estimated potential contract value of around $1 Billion of work for Visionstream. The Managing Director of Leighton Contractors, Craig Laslett, said \"We are thrilled to have secured this major contract as part of the NBN roll out. Visionstream has proven itself as a reliable, expert and capable partner for NBNCo and we look forward to delivering broadband benefits to Victorian, New South Wales and Queensland communities.\"

\"This contract enables Visionstream to continue to grow and create a substantial number of new employment opportunities in the local areas.\" The General Manager of Visionstream, Allan Bradford, said: \"Visionstream brings seventeen years of national and international experience in offering innovative customer?centric integrated design, construction, operation and maintenance services with telecommunications networks and we look forward to delivering NBN benefits to the wider community.\"

This latest contract places Visionstream as one of NBN\'s largest providers of services and complements Visionstream\'s already awarded NBN contracts to build NBN\'s Transit Network, Tasmanian passive fibre, New Developments and the construction of the fixed wireless network. Visionstream\'s project construction for NBN Victoria, southern New South Wales and Queensland is set to commence within the next few months with the team currently mobilising and undertaking design and surveying.
