Siemens declared that it has inked an accord with Manweir Qatar-based manufacturing and servicing company to service equipment used in the oil & gas market.

At the Ras Laffan industrial area 80 km north of Doha, Manweir has start up with new 46,000m2 facility for utilizing and to service and maintain compressors and steam turbines used in the ower and oil & gas sectors.

According to Siemens, the centres will decrease service times for local customers and boost its presence in the emirate.

\"Our agreement with Manweir will help reduce service times for a wide range of compressors and industrial steam turbines,\" stated by Hamad Al Khayyat, general manager of the company\'s oil & gas division in Qatar.

\"Providing rapid response and fast turnaround of on and off-site repairs will enable our customers in Qatar to keep both planned and unplanned downtime to a minimum.\"

\"This step is further testament to our commitment to Qatar and the importance of being closer to our customers,\" said Siemens Qatar CEO Bernhard Fonseka. \"As Qatar continues to develop its infrastructure, Siemens will play a supporting role by providing innovative and reliable technologies and services to a wide range of sectors, including energy.\"
