Oman : Port of Sohar, Oman Establishment for Press, Publication & Advertising (OEPPA) ink publication deal
Publish Date : 02-Apr-2013
Oman Establishment for Press, Publication & Advertising (OEPPA), publishers of Oman Daily Observer and its sister Arabic paper Oman, has signed an agreement with Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC), for the joint production and publication of the 2014 edition of the latter’s annual ‘Port of Sohar / Freezone Sohar’ magazine.
Dr Ibrahim bin Ahmed al Kindi, CEO, inked the agreement on behalf of OEPPA. Signing for SIPC were Andre Toet, CEO, and Jamal T Aziz, Deputy CEO. Also present at the ceremony, which took place at the Muscat office of SIPC, were Edwin Lammers, Executive Commercial Manager — Port of Sohar, and Saif al Mahrouqi, Editor-in-Chief, Oman Arabic newspaper.
The flagship publication of SIPC, ‘Port of Sohar / Freezone Sohar’ has been documenting the phenomenal growth of the industrial port — and lately the adjoining free zone — for nearly a decade. The 2014 edition will be the eighth in the series of fully-illustrated, coffee-table style publications that have served to highlight the vision and strategy of the joint venture port authority to develop and operate a world-class maritime hub on the North Batinah coast.
The industrial port has so far attracted around $15 billion in industrial and infrastructure-related investments, serving as a powerful engine of economic growth and employment generation across the Batinah North and South governorates.
Comprehensive articles illustrating the success stories of industries and service providers at Sohar Port have also made the annual publication a handy guide and marketing tool for Port of Sohar and Freezone Sohar. Copies of the magazine are typically distributed at international trade fairs and investment seminars targeted by SIPC executives. The 2014 edition of ‘Port of Sohar / Freezone Sohar’ magazine will be produced by OEPPA’s newly established Communications & Special Projects Department.
