Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, today announced that it has signed Morsviazsputnik, the licensed operator of Inmarsat's mobile satellite services in Russia, as a Distribution Partner for Hughes BGAN mobile satellite products.

"Morsviazsputnik is a leading provider of mobile satellite and navigation services within Russia, making it an ideal distribution partner for Hughes," said Graham Avis, vice president and general manager of Hughes San Diego. "Their strong market presence combined with world-class support from our very capable Moscow office positions us well to serve this large market, offering a complete range of mobile, portable, fixed, and machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions."

"We are very pleased to have been chosen as a reseller of Hughes BGAN mobile satellite products," said Andrey Kuropyatnikov, general director of Morsviazsputnik. "Hughes delivers unique and innovative technology advantages and product attributes that will give us far greater reach and the ability to grow the subscriber base well beyond the traditional mobile satellite market."

Hughes designs and manufactures a full line of mobile satellite terminals that operate over Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), serving a wide range of mobile workers who need reliable, high-speed connectivity on-the-move such as emergency first responders, public safety workers, reporters, mobile healthcare technicians, and remote field personnel.

In addition, Hughes designs and manufactures IP satellite terminals for SCADA and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications operating over the BGAN service for industry sectors such as environmental monitoring, SmartGrid, pipeline monitoring, compressor monitoring, well site automation, video surveillance, and out-of-band management to primary site communications.
