United States : Satcom Direct inks deal with Honeywell

Satcom Direct, who is the provider of satellite voice, fax, datalink and Internet communications solutions has entered into an agreement with Honeywell to be a business aviation distribution partner for Inmarsat GX Aviation Ka-band services. And it will be a distributor of GX avionics equipment. Honeywell is the designated business aviation value-added reseller for Inmarsat GX Aviation Ka-band aircraft connectivity services. It is making the service available to customers through a network of distribution partners. Through this agreement, customers can buy GX Aviation services through Satcom Direct, and package it with existing services for a complete aircraft communications solution. GX avionics equipment will be available from Satcom Direct and the Honeywell Authorized Dealer network.

Inmarsat GX Aviation Ka-band will be commercially available early 2015. It is designed to offer end-users consistent, high-capacity broadband coverage all over the world.
