India : GAMESA inks agreements with CLP INDIA and Greenko, strengthening presence in INDIA

Publish Date : 29-May-2013

Gamesa declared that it has inked two agreements to supply a total of 230MW: 130MW to China Light & Power India (CLP India) and 100MW to Greenko Wind Project, strengthening its presence in India.

The company's agreement with Greenko includes the supply and installation of 100MW. This agreement might be extended to additional 200MW, with negotiations and site analysis already underway.

As per this agreement, Gamesa will be responsible for the installation of 50 G97-2.0MW WTGs (100 MW in total) at two 50MW wind farms located in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is estimated that the installation of these turbines will be finished by the end of Q4 of 2013. In addition, Gamesa will handle the related O&M services for a five-year term.

On the other hand, the agreement with CLP India covers the supply, installation and commissioning of 65 G97-2.0MW WTGs (total capacity: 130MW) at the Jath wind farm being developed by Gamesa in the Sangli district of the state of Maharashtra. The scope of this contract extends to the related O&M services for a period of 10 years.

It is expected that the installation of the first 50 turbines (100MW) will commence in the Q3 of 2013 and the rest of 30MW will be installed by the end of the year. The project is scheduled to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2014.

This facility will generate enough energy to supply 90,000 households, thereby preventing the emission of 259,000 tons of greenhouse gases every year, when operational.
