Finland : Tieto signs agreement with DEKRA on expanded IT partnership
Publish Date : 31-May-2013
Tieto is expanding its partnership with the DEKRA Group. The new agreement involves Tieto taking overall responsibility for the IT operations at DEKRA Industrials and DEKRA Automotives in Sweden. The agreement, which runs for three years with an option of a further two, came into force on 1 February 2013. The order value is estimated to be around SEK 12 million.
Following a successful partnership between Tieto and DEKRA Industrial, DEKRA Automotive has also been included in the new agreement. DEKRA Automotive focuses on services relating to vehicles, e.g. vehicle inspection. DEKRA's business is expanding substantially in the Swedish market, mainly in vehicle inspection after the demonopolization in this area, but also in the consulting business area, which works with ensuring workshop quality. At the end of 2014, it is estimated that DEKRA will have around 30 inspection stations, and the company sees expanding its partnership with Tieto as a natural step.
"We have decided to expand our partnership with Tieto, as they are a stable supplier with key knowledge of our industry. This provides us with security now that we are expanding on the vehicle inspection side," says Jan Martinsson, CEO of DEKRA Automotive AB.
For Tieto, the agreement means an opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing customer. Tieto sees both DEKRA Industrial's ambitions in the field of technical checks and DEKRA Automotive's focus on the vehicle inspection industry as exciting initiatives, with opportunities for interesting new business in these areas.
"We at Tieto are naturally delighted that DEKRA are not only renewing their agreement but also expanding our IT partnership. We see great potential to develop together," says Ulrika Wergens, Customer Manager at Tieto.
