Saudi Arabia : STC partners ERICSSON for SEP

Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has benefited from Ericsson's products, consulting and systems consolidation capabilities to boost functionality and to consolidate systems for an end-to-end Service Enablement Platform (SEP) for 160 million customers.

The joint venture aimed to boost consumptions as well as revenues and propel brand involvement through enhanced customer experience.

STC has thus developed new ways to offer value-added services directly to subscribers and through third-party collaborations. It has also optimized its potential to leverage on network assets and wireless broadband infrastructure.

This has enabled the Saudi telecom giant to launch 6,000 new services, reduce customer complaints by 70% and develop a self-service portal that welcomes six million visitors per day.

STC, Senior Vice President of Technology & Operations, Dr. Khaled Biyari, said, "Working closely with our partner, Ericsson, STC was able to develop and implement an enablement platform that will allow us to provide STC customers with a much better service experience while pursuing our expansion strategies. This is an example of how such joint partnerships can enhance the level of innovation in the Telecom industry. We look forward to continuing this innovation journey and partnership with Ericsson."
