State-run Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp (Psalm) is looking out for bidders for a one-year contract to supply diesel to the Ilijan natural gas plant in Batangas. The bidding will be carried out on August 14.

According to Psalm's invitation to bid, the contract features the delivery of 30,000 liters of diesel to the Ilijan plant during current year.

A budget of P1.2 billion has been set by the agency for the fuel supply procurement.

Psalm said, "Bids received in excess of the (approved budget for the contract) shall be automatically rejected at bid opening."

The Ilijan power plant features two generating units with a rated capacity of 600 megawatts each. The units are been fueled by natural gas from the Malampaya field in offshore northwest Palawan. The power plant is also capable of running on diesel oil stored on site. Plants output is been marketed by San Miguel Corp (SMC).
