WABCO Holdings Inc., a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that it has expanded its long-term supply agreement with Ford Otosan, Turkey's largest manufacturer and exporter of commercial vehicles. The expanded agreement adds the supply of WABCO's breakthrough c-comp air compressor with integrated clutch for series production in 2015 to support Ford Otosan's current and new platforms of heavy duty trucks.
WABCO's c-comp features the industry's most compact compressor design available, combining high performance and best-in-class efficiency. WABCO's breakthrough technology also supports engines that meet upcoming EURO VI emission standards, contributing to improved environmental sustainability.
The new contract between Ford Otosan and WABCO expands their partnership that began more than 10 years ago, with WABCO supplying a broad portfolio of braking, air management and electronic suspension technologies and systems to support series production of Ford Otosan's trucks.
"This significant new contract with Ford Otosan further demonstrates WABCO's technology leadership as yet another major global truck manufacturer adopts our industry-leading air compressor with integrated clutch for volume production," said Mike Thompson, WABCO Vice President, Compression and Braking. "We are proud to expand our partnership with Ford Otosan as we continue to help sustain their success through WABCO innovations that improve vehicle efficiency and performance while also providing clean air solutions."
Ford Otosan has a long track record of market leadership in Turkey and in 2012 the company accounted for 60 percent of the country's total commercial vehicle exports. Ford Otosan exports heavy duty trucks to 30 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
