France : ABB takes control of TOULOUSE based software firm NEWRON SYSTEM

ABB has announced the acquisition of French software firm Newron System S.A., based in Toulouse. With this acquisition the firm aims at expanding its footprint in the market and offering for channel partners in automation solutions for buildings. Detailsof the deal were not revealed.
Newron System deals in development of software for building-automation solutions and sells it via high-end distributors and installers. The software allows devices, like blind controls and lights, to communicate with each other along with the central management. Firms annual sales amounts to less than $10 million.
According to ABB, this acquisition is expected to support its strategy in the growing automation market for buildings, aiming at expanding its market reach and offering for channel partners.
By adding flexible automation solutions to the offering, software from Newron System complements product range offered by ABB.
Followed by the acquisition, the company will be integrated into ABB's Low Voltage Products (LP) division.
