Drake & Scull has won a $113m contract to execute MEP works for the Abu Dhabi Louvre museum being constructed at Saadiyat Island.
The Arabtec-led ASOLOUVRE joint venture which is building the museum under a $654m (AED2.4bn) contract has awarded the contract. It had bagged the deal in January this year from master developer Tourism Development & Investment Co (TDIC).
According to Drake & Scull, execution of the work will be in co-ordination with Habtoor Leighton Specon. The work includes all MEP work along with incidentals within the 64,000m2 complex.
Completion of the project is set for the fourth quarter of 2015.
Drake & Scull CEO Khaldoun Tabari said, "The Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi is the most anticipated and prestigious cultural development project in the region. It will be a showcase of artistic mastery and world-class engineering."
"We thank the Arabtec-led Joint Venture for choosing DSI to execute this iconic project and we are confident that our partnership will bring exceptional value and solid engineering expertise."
