Canada : MTS acquires EPIC Information Solutions

Manitoba Telecom Services Inc., today announced it has acquired EPIC Information Solutions, a Winnipeg-based company that provides IT infrastructure and managed services to approximately 700 businesses across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. By acquiring EPIC, MTS expands its ability to offer Manitoba businesses the most comprehensive suite of IP communications services in the province, including voice, data, wireless and now IT infrastructure services.
The additional IT services that MTS gains access to through EPIC will provide MTS business customers with a broader range of combined IP communications and IT (networking, servers, integration) solutions that addresses customers' computing, data processing and storage needs as well as the need to communicate with their own customers, vendors and other locations.

"EPIC's services complement and strengthen our existing business communications service portfolio. Working together, MTS and EPIC will be even better positioned to meet customers' needs with combined IT and IP communications solutions backed up with the best local expertise of any service provider in the province."

EPIC will continue to operate as a separate, wholly-owned subsidiary of MTS. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
