Singapore : A-Sonic inks deal to lease more aircraft

A-SONIC Aerospace Ltd announced that it has leased out its third aircraft on Friday, September 13, and further strengthened its order book with the signing of a Letter of Intent or LOI with a customer to lease out another three more aircraft. The latest agreement is for the three single aisle aircraft to be delivered in phases between December 2013 and April 2014.
Earlier this month, A-Sonic revealed that it had kickstarted its aviation subsidiary focussing on aircraft leasing business. This business will supply narrow-body aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 172 passengers that has about five to five-and-a-half hours of non-stop flight range. The aircraft are leased to customers for a period of three to four years. Its current customers are in South Asia and Euro-Asia regions.
The group is currently placed to take ownership of a fleet of twelve MD83 aircraft and at least nine aircraft engines.
A-Sonic's other business unit is logistics, which it is currently restructuring.
