India : BIHAR plans for Rs 28000 crore investment on power sector within next 5 years

Within next five years, Government of Bihar will be investing Rs 28,000 crore towards revamping the state's power sector.
As per the decision of the state government, out of the entire amount nearly Rs 10,000 crore will be incurred to replace its obsolete power infrastructure. It has plans to connect all of every village in Bihar with electricity within next few years.
The investment will go towards improving generation in the state, which is very important. Measures will be initiated to increase capacity, aiming at reducing reliance of the state on central pool.
The state government plans for an investment of Rs 10,000 crore in revamping its old and obsolete transmission and distribution network.
In the country, Bihar has the highest T&D losses and hence in order to decrease this loss to 10 percent within next five years, the government have come up with a decision to invest Rs 5,500 crores on replacement of the old transmission lines and construction of new grids and substations. The state government will also invest Rs 4,500 crore on fixing our distribution network.
