WABCO Holdings Inc., a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that WABCO has further expanded its relationship with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, one of the largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles in South America. WABCO will furnish air processing technology, on a sole supplier basis, to equip braking systems across Mercedes-Benz do Brasil's platforms of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Series production is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2014.
This long-term agreement represents new incremental business for WABCO with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. It comprises air processing technology that is highly robust and reliable, protecting the braking system and improving vehicle safety. WABCO will supply Mercedes-Benz do Brasil from its world-class manufacturing facility located in Sumaré, Brazil.

WABCO supplies Mercedes-Benz do Brasil with conventional and advanced technologies for air compression, braking, suspension and transmission automation to support truck and bus production at two manufacturing sites. WABCO furnishes Mercedes-Benz's plant in Săo Bernardo do Campo, its largest commercial vehicle factory outside of Germany. WABCO also supplies Mercedes-Benz at its Juiz de Fora plant.
Mercedes-Benz do Brasil is the South American subsidiary of the Daimler Group, and Latin America's biggest manufacturer of commercial vehicles.
WABCO is South America's market leader for ABS, electronic stability control (ESC), conventional brake systems, air management systems, transmission automation controls and other safety and efficiency technologies. Established in 1980 and headquartered in Sumaré, near Săo Paulo, WABCO South America also serves as a major hub in the manufacturing and sales network of WABCO worldwide. It has a world-class production facility and a distribution center in the Campinas region.
