Publish Date : 11-Oct-2011
Regional Express Holdings has received a $47 million 3-year contract from Australian Defense Force to provide jet aircraft services.
The company received the contract after a successful tender. The new contract starts on 1 October 2011 and supersedes the interim arrangement.
The 3 year contract with the Commonwealth of Australia was secured by wholly owned subsidiary Pel-Air Aviation Pty Ltd and follows the expiry of the last contract on 30 June 2011. Since 1996, Pel-Air Aviation has been offering jet aircraft services in support of ADF training.
Rex recently commenced airline services seven days a week from Newcastle, close to the coal-rich Hunter Valley, to Sydney and Ballina/Byron Bay from the end of October.
