American Express (Amex) have formed a partnership with Emirates, a leading Dubai-based airline, that will allow Amex card members to transfer their Membership Rewards points to Emirates Skywards programme.

Redemption of the points may be for Skywards Miles for travel on Emirates. American Express and Emirates will be providing a limited time transfer bonus. The US, UK and France's Eligible Card Members who transfer points to Emirates Skywards between November 8 and 21 will get a 25 per cent bonus.

At the time of this promotion, eligible Card Members will be able to transfer as few as 60,000 Membership Rewards points to Emirates Skywards and book an Economy Class return ticket on Emirates between JFK and Dubai.

Josh Silverman, president Consumer Services at American Express, said that, reward flights will be offered to nearly 136 destinations on the Emirates network. He added, "Emirates is known for service and innovation, two of our core values at American Express. Bringing Emirates Skywards into the Membership Rewards program opens up new pathways to the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe for our global Card Members."

Thierry Antinori, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Emirates Airline, said, "The relationship with American Express is a new milestone enabling us to offer the exceptional experience of flying with Emirates to Card Members." Antinori added, "We can reach American Express' loyal Card Member base and allow them to enjoy the exclusive privileges of a rewarding frequent flyer program."
