A contract has been inked by New Hampshire Aerospace and Defense Export Consortium with Aero Montreal on December 2, 2013 at the Aerospace Innovation Forum in Montreal.
The transaction sets up chosen relations amid the two organizations and promotes cooperation and teamwork on subjects like training, research, joint trade missions, and supplier development schemes.
Christopher Wrenn chair of the New Hampshire consortium told "This is a big day for NHADEC and the state of New Hampshire. It's important because we are such a young organization and it gives us the opportunity to partner with an organization that has a long history in aerospace. Our members will learn a lot, but we have a lot to offer to Aero Montreal."
Describing it as a "strategic collaboration," Aero Montreal President Suzanne Benoit said the deal is an initial measure in establishing Quebec-New England aerospace corridor. "The NHADEC is definitely a partner of choice. This strategic collaboration will provide major opportunities for Quebec's aerospace industry by encouraging trade and fostering partnerships between our two aerospace sectors," she said.
Established in 2006, Aero Montreal, Quebec's aerospace cluster, is a strategic think tank that brings together CEOs of Quebec's aerospace sector, industry, educational institutions, research centers and including associations and unions. Aero Montreal's mission is to mobilize industry players around common goals and focused actions to increase cohesion and optimize competitiveness for the growth and expansion of the aerospace cluster to it remains a source of wealth creation even more important for Montreal, Quebec and Canada. Over the years, the Aero Montreal strategic plan provided for the start of several projects, namely the supply chain, succession and workforce, innovation, image, visibility and outreach, defense and national security as well as marketing and market development.
