In order to raise its capacity of power generation by 30,000 MW by 2018, Saudi Electricity aims at an $80-billion investment plan to cater to the power requirement that yearly registers a grows of around 8 percent.
CEO of SEC, Ali Al-Barrak, stated that new plant\'s each turbine be able to generate 110 to 130MW. He said, “The 10 new turbines will not consume any additional fuel as they will operate by steam produced from the heat of existing turbines, thus enhancing the plant\'s fuel efficiency by 50 percent.”
