The Dixie Group, Inc., seeks partnership with a Dutch tile producer for expanding its product offerings and footprint in the brand-conscious hospitality market.

According to Dixie it has signed an agreement for establishing a joint venture with a Netherlands based company, Desso,-Holding BV, along with Masland Contract, a division of The Dixie Group.

Dixie said, "The intent is to build a comprehensive floorcovering offering for the hospitality market in the United States and international distribution. Using nearly 250 years of combined manufacturing excellence, both companies will be able to provide more value in the marketplace with complementary product lines to supply a complete offering to any brand-conscious hospitality environment."

The parties have also entered into a sales and distribution deal making Dixie Group the exclusive distributor of certain Desso high performance tile products in the U.S.

Further, this agreement among other matters is also subject to achieving certain sales levels pursuant to the sales and distribution agreement and the successful launch of the hospitality joint venture.

Daniel K. Frierson, Dixie Group CEO said, "Desso and Masland Contract share the same values of producing environmentally responsible flooring products that stand out in their design and functionality. We look forward to this exciting new venture."
