France,Russian Federation : ALSTOM begins work on first GT13E2 gas turbine in RUSSIA

In Russia, Alstom commences the work as well as authoritatively oversaw for the first of its GT13E2 gas turbines being rendered for Nizhneturinskaya thermal power plant (TPP) in Urals.

In 2011, the firm had inked a frame of contracts of five GT13E2 turbines of 180MW each to IES-Holding to utilize in Nizhneturinskaya and Novogorkovskaya, and Akademicheskaya TPPs.

The IES's project incorporates the constitution of two merged cycle plants and estimated over RUB20bn (€450m), along with a aggregated capacity of 460MW.

And further, it is anticipated to advance the power supply, reduce energy cost and offer new opportunities for the development of Nizhnyaya Tura and Lesnoy cities.

The commissioning of power generating units is scheduled for December 2015.

Andrey Lavrinenko stated that Alstom Russia and CIS Global Power Sales vice president, the GT13E2 turbine has achieved over 10 million operating hours, and has already made a good showing at gas-fired plants worldwide.

"With this project, our leading technologies for gas-fired plants will foster development of Russian regions through power supply to communities and industrial facilities," Lavrinenko added.
