A cooperation agreement has been inked within the framework of implementing sports concept to focus on reaching educational goals, between Qatar's major non-profit organisation, Reach Out To Asia (Rota), and the Qatar Football Association (QFA), the body that governs football in Qatar.
The agreement, which sets out the pledge of both parties to support the development of youth capabilities and advancing long-term growth and leadership capacity-building, was inked by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani, president of QFA and Rota executive director Essa al-Mannai at Al Bidda Tower.
Sheikh Hamad stated : 'Our partnership agreement with Rota is another example of QFA's commitment to mark social responsibility programmes one of the key priorities in its vision. QFA has introduced countless social responsibility programs with several local entities. Our work with Rota is one of a kind as we will jointly aim to reach different communities locally and regionally while making QFA's 2021 vision a reality. Football, Education and Culture, the inseparable trio, encourage cultural exchange and promote the diversity of cultures; we are sure that partnering with Rota will achieve this social goal locally and internationally.'
He added : 'QFA's obligation is to encourage all sectors of the local and regional community to participate in the most popular game in the world through merging of football within the local and regional community through purposeful social programmes, involving all segments of the local and regional community in the tournaments and competitions organized by QFA and Rota. QFA and Rota's partnership aims to introduce the football culture, sports education, sportsmanship and positive values of football to all local and regional communities through organising football-related initiatives.'
Al-Mannai said: 'We meet today because there is a common purpose that brings our two successful entities together. We are two responsible institutions aware of our leading role and what the local and international communities are requiring from both of us, as being part of the State of Qatar, a country with a rational leadership that provided us with the 2030 clear national vision for the future'.
He added : 'We will set up an initial plan that will identify the areas of co-operation and partnership locally and internationally. This agreement will make giant strides in the activities of Rota, especially with the encouragement of the government in fields of sports and individual's attitude. The agreement will also include donation in the form of sports equipment to one of Rota projects in Asia, through QFA'.
