The UAE-based leading low-cost carrier - Air Arabia has declared that the airline has received the 6000th A320 aircraft manufactured by Airbus so far, which also reflects its receipt of 37th aircraft to date.

The airline, the first and the No. 1 LCC of the Middle East and North Africa, has announced that the newly delivered aircraft has been decorated with a 6000th logo to mark the occasion. It has been rolled out at an event in the German Hamburg-based facility of Airbus, in which the higher-ranking officials of Air Arabia, Airbus and CFM plus the whole technical side of the European aircraft maker have been present.

The largest low-cost airline in the MENA has so far taken delivery of 23 A320 aircraft out of its order for 44 units that it placed with Airbus in 2007.

Airbus will accomplish its contract with Air Arabia in 2016, and after this, the size of the budget carrier's current fleet will grow twofold.

The newly delivered A320 aircrafts has been furnished with the fuel saving large wing tip devices – Shraklets. The device considerably cuts fuel use and emissions, resulting in the enhancement of the aerodynamics of the aircraft. Air Arabia is the first Middle Eastern air carrier to operate this type of aircraft.

Air Arabia's Group Chief Executive Officer - Adel Ali stated, "The delivery of our 37th aircraft marks a significant step in the development of our fleet expansion strategy. We are proud to be in the process of creating the industry's most modern fleet as we look forward to receiving seven more aircrafts this year.
