United Kingdom : CAPGEMINI bags L6.3 MILLION ERP cloud contract from UK FCO

Publish Date : 03-Apr-2014

Capgemini declared that it has inked a two-year contract valuing L6.3 million with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to assist the upgradation of its ERP system.

According to the FCO, "The deal is one of the largest of its kind under the third G-Cloud procurement framework".

The ERP manages the finance, procurement, projects, HR and payroll functions and will be provided through the FCO's service integration and management mode, as part of new governance structures introduced by the FCO.

The upgrade will be operated through 2015, by which government organisations outside the UK will be able to access the supporting platform.

"The project is intended to support improved organisational efficiency, make the FCO more agile, and help it meet more stringent Cabinet Office requirements on value for money," the FCO said.

Tim Gardner, corporate services centre director at the FCO said, "With the change in approach to service delivery, this new deal with Capgemini will allow us to make significant cost savings, while ensuring systems continue to support a large number of Government Departments that reside on the overseas platform provided by the FCO."

"This new agreement will give the FCO a seamless upgrade to the latest software versions and excellent value for money, with the support of a leaner and more flexible team," said Chris Gravestock, FCO account director at Capgemini.
