CANADA : MICHAEL BAKER ENGINEERING awarded $5.0 million contract by North Carolina Department of Transportation

Michael Baker Engineering, Inc., a subsidiary of Michael Baker Corp, has been awarded a contract worth $5.0 million by North Carolina Department of Transportation to construct, engineer and inspect the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project in Davidson County, North Carolina.
The 3.6-mile, design-build widening and reconstruction of I-85 from north of North Carolina State Route 150 to north of Business Route I-85 is a specific part of the construction work.
The firm will provide services for the construction , inspection, sampling of materials and testing, quality assurance oversight, calculations of quantities, documentation of project, interpretation of plans and specifications, compliance with the permits, and maintenance and protection of traffic.
Construction on the project has already started this year in August and is expected to last for 21 months.
