AUSTRALIA : Monadelphous wins $230 million in new contracts

Monadelphous Group, an engineering company has inked new contracts worth around $230 million with resources firms including Rio Tinto and Xstrata, which according to the company are contracts related to six different projects in the sector of mining, energy and infrastructure.
According to Monadelphous, all of the construction related contracts are to be concluded during the second half of 2012.
The contracted work includes structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works for strengthening the coal preparation plant and stockyards at Kestrel coal mine of Rio Tinto located close to Emerald in Queensland.
Other contract makes Monadelphous responsible for working out structural and mechanical related job on the coarse ore stockpile at Cape Lambert iron ore project in Western Australia of Rio Tinto. The engineering firm will even develop and execute coal conveyors associated with Ulan West Project of Xstrata Coal in the NSW central west.
The remaining contracts includes wastewater infrastructure projects in Toowoomba in Queensland, developing an onshore gas pipeline associated with Gorgon LNG project of Chevron in WA, as well as includes extending the current contract for maintenance and shutdown services at ConocoPhillips\' Darwin LNG facility.
