UNITED STATES : Lockheed Martin and L-3 Communications get $1 billion deals from US Air Force

Defense contractors Lockheed Martin Corp. and L-3 Communications received Air Force contract assignments worth a total of more than $1 billion to support aircraft modernization and flight training program.
As per these deals, both Lockheed Martin and L-3 Communications will be responsible to support aircraft upgrade and flight training programs.
Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will carry out the work on this deal. The center administers different key aircraft and weapons programs for Air Force.
Lockheed Martin’s aeronautical systems business obtained four separate deals of worth US $889 million, to offer materials, production and deployment support for Air Force’s ongoing program to deploy upgraded engines and aviation electronics on some of its huge C-5 Galaxy transport planes.
L-3 Communications obtained a $469 million deal, to offer contractor logistical support for F-16 training system, aircrew and maintenance programs. It covers support at Air Force bases in US and overseas, besides foreign military sales to Greece, Bahrain and Jordan.
