UNITED STATES : Flint secures $430 million contract for oil sands project

Flint Energy Services announced that it has secured a contract valued at around $430 million to build two silos at an oil sands project close to Fort McMurray, Alberta.
As per the terms of the contract, Flint will handle the construction of the project, mechanical and electrical services and equipment and other management and support work.
Flint stated that the project is expected to commence in the Q1 of 2012 and will last till the middle of 2014. The project is also estimated to hire more that 1,500 people.
“This is a large construction project and it demonstrates the increasing activity levels in oil and capital investments,” said Bill Lingard, President and CEO of Flint.
