CHINA,QATAR : IGTC-Chubb Fire Qatar wins QR2 million deal from Chinese CHEC
Publish Date : 01-Nov-2011
International Gulf Trading Company (IGTC)-Chubb Fire Qatar, the country’s leading supplier of fire safety equipment and security solutions, announced that it has secured a contract to supply a fire protection system to the China Harbour Engineering Company.
China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC) is a world-renowned international contractor with 31 overseas branches and business activities in more than 70 countries. The company currently employs more than 6,000 staff, undertaking a combined total of $10 billion (QR36.4 billion) worth of projects the world over.
Founded in 1980, CHEC is focused on infrastructure construction, such as marine engineering, dredging and reclamation, road and bridge, railways, airports, complete plant, and other works. It is the largest of all Chinese international contractors and 2nd largest dredging company in the world.
The huge amount of infrastructure work going on in Qatar – driven, among other things, by the Qatar National Vision 2030 is what has attracted CHEC to this country, and it is seeking to enhance its operations here by building a new labour camp for its contracted employees at Doha Port Project site.
