UNITED STATES : Vigor Marine gets $14.24 million Navy contract

The Navy has awarded Vigor Marine of Portland a $14.24 million fixed-price contract to overhaul the submarine tender the USS Frank Cable.
As per the contract, company will be replacing switchboards, the electrical power control panel, turbine rotors and steel, installing fuel oil overflow headers and other repairs.
Vigor spokesman Steve Hirsh said, “The job will directly employ 250 people, including subcontractors.”
“The contract includes an option that could bring the value of the contract to $20.1 million. Work will be performed on Swan Island and is scheduled for completion by July next year,” said the Military Sealift Command.
Hirsh stated that the work will be started in early in February.
