A major contract has been secured by Costain Group Plc from the Network Rail for the reconstruction of London Bridge Station.
As per the deal, which is value at 400 million pounds over a span of five years, the company would execute the detailed design and delivery of the venture.
The project involves the provision of a new concourse at street level, with gateways on Tooley Street and St Thomas Street, which would enhance passenger potential through the station to about 75 million from around 50 million.
The gateway points would also be rebuilt to facilitate access to and from the station. Work is scheduled to start in full in 2013 and should be completed by 2018. Costain would make sure that the station remains fully functional at all times to cut down disruption to trave
