BANGLADESH : Rolls-Royce wins $22m power plant deal

Rolls-Royce obtained US $22 million deal from Baraka Patenga Power Ltd.
As per this deal, Rolls-Royce will provide eight Bergen B32:40 16V reciprocating engine generator sets to Baraka Patenga Power. The company will use these engines for its 50MW power plant under construction at Patenga, 14km south of the port city of Chittagong.
“BPPL is delighted to award this important contract to Rolls-Royce who we selected due to their track-record of delivering efficient and reliable power generation technology and services across the globe. The Patenga power plant will play an important role in supporting the development of the Bangladeshi local economy, supplying electricity to the national grid,” said Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of Baraka Patenga Power.
