Publish Date : 03-Nov-2011

Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL) obtained a RM90.3 million deal for a new rural water treatment plant project in Samalaju, in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (Score).

The company won this deal, through tender, from Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda), which is responsible to manage Score’s development and corridor’s management as well as promotion.

This will be second water treatment plant, which will be constructed in Samalaju for energy-intensive industries. KKB Engineering Bhd earlier finished first Samalaju water project with RM300 million investment. The project covered 800mm and 650mm-diameter mild steel cement lined pipes stretching for about 85km from raw water intake point in Bintulu to Samalaju. It also covered construction of water treatment plant and other related facilities. The project can provide 35 million litres per day (mld) of raw water and 5mld of treated water to Samalaju Industrial Park and a number of coastal villages nearby.

According to Datuk Paul Yu Chee Hoe, Managing Director of HSL, this deal will add positively to group’s end result in 2012 and 2013.
