UNITED STATES : Lockheed Martin secures USD7.4b Air Force deal

The Pentagon has inked a USD7.4 billion deal with Lockheed Martin Corp. as per which, Lockheed would upgrade the Air Force\'s F-22 Raptor fighter jet\'s systems. According to Pentagon, Lockheed was the only firm that competed for the profitable contract.
The defense contractor, Lockheed Martin Corp. would upgrade the fighter jet\'s system; add new capabilities, in addition to improving the aircraft\'s performance, under the contract.
