INDONESIA : Lion Air places $21.7 billion aircraft order with Boeing

Jakarta-based airline, Lion Air has signed a commitment to order 230 Boeing aircraft with a street value of $21.7 billion. The order includes 201 737 MAX single-aisle airliners and 29 extended range 737-900ER jets, plus options for 150 more aircraft.
The deal has been signed during President Obama’s Indonesia visist. PT Lion Mentari Airlines, operating as Lion Air, is Indonesia’s largest private carrier and Asia’s first hybrid carrier which offers both economy and business-class seating, based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Lion Air also flies to Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Its main base is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta. It operates scheduled passenger services on an extensive network from Jakarta to 56 destinations.
