DENMARK,UNITED KINGDOM : HP wins Ł100m datacentre deal from Maersk Line

HP has been awarded a five-year contract worth $150 million for data centre and private cloud computing from Maersk Line.
As per the contract terms, HP will develop a standardised private cloud for the Danish company to improve processes and cutting costs for running distributed and local applications, and will also offer support and monitoring for the datacentres.
HP will also acquire the service desk function at Maersk Line and manage desktop and notebook PCs for 38,000 users in over 100 countries.
“Competition and the tough conditions faced by the shipping industry meant the company needed \'innovation\' and an \'agile technology infrastructure\',” said Adam Gade, chief information officer at Maersk Line.
