AUSTRALIA : WorleyParsons gets US$200 mln contract

WorleyParsons, Australian engineering and services firm has secured a US$200 mln contract. The deal is for project management consultancy at the US$12 bln Refineria del Pacifico refinery and petrochemicals project in Ecuador.
The Manabi 300,000 bpd refinery project, is a joint venture between PetroEcuador and PDVSA Ecuador.
Initially, WorleyParsons is been contracted to provide an integrated project management team, located in Houston, to manage the front-end engineering and project\'s design. The company would also assist during the selection of engineering, procurement and construction contractors.
During the second phase of the project, WorleyParsons would examine the EPC contractors. The company would be responsible for construction management of initial operations at the Manabi site.
The project is expected to conclude by December 2015.
