AUSTRALIA : Theiss inks AU$475m rail contract in South-East Queensland

A team led by Theiss has inked a rail project in South East Queensland, Australia. The project is worth around AU$475m.

TrackStar Alliance will be executing work on the Darra to Springfield transport corridor stage two Richlands to Springfield project. As the lead contractor of the alliance, Thiess\'s net contract value will be around AU$285m.

Earlier in the month of February, the project was made public by the Queensland Government and the contract in this regards was inked in this month.

The project includes the civil works like the construction of two new stations and a 900m-long, 15m-high viaduct all over the Logan Motorway Interchange. For the 9.5km area, Queensland Rail is acting as the client as well as a partner within the Alliance.

The work on the dual-track passenger rail line is expected to conclude in 2013.
