NORWAY : $75m North Sea contract awarded to Subsea 7

A Norway-based seabed-to-surface engineering and construction contractor, Subsea 7, has been awarded a contract from Total E&P Norge.
The $75m deal is for providing subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines for the Atla field located in the central part of the North Sea.
The company will be responsible for supplying management, engineering, procurement as well as installation services. The deal would also comprise of survey operations, tie-in and pre-commissioning activities and also related services.
Subsea 7 will be setting up a 7km 9,3\'\' flexible flowline in between the Atla and the Bygve Tee on the prevailing pipeline between Byggve and Heimdal fields. The contract even prompts the company to set up a 7km umbilical between the Atla production guide base (PGB) and the Byggve PGB.
According to Subsea 7, the engineering and project management work would be started on immediate basis. Offshore activities are expected to start during the second quarter of 2012.
