GUAM, UNITED STATES : GTA TeleGuam Wins $1.9M Contract Renewal from U.S. Defense Department
Publish Date : 16-Dec-2011
GTA TeleGuam has been awarded a multi-year $1.9 million Department of Defense contract renewal to provide local voice and data communications services to the Joint Region Marianas including the U.S. Naval Base and Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
GTA TeleGuam was awarded a new five-year contract after a competitive bidding process among four communications providers. It is among one of the largest telecommunications contracts the Air Force\'s 38th Cyberspace Engineering Group awards because the agreement covers both the Naval and Air Force bases in Guam.
This is GTA TeleGuam\'s second five-year contract with the Joint Region Marianas since the company was privatized in 2005.
\"In a fiercely competitive environment, this contract renewal is a vote of confidence for GTA TeleGuam\'s track record of performance, network investment history and competitive pricing,\" said Roland Certeza, executive vice president of sales and marketing for GTA TeleGuam. \"Excellent, reliable communications services are vital for our military and GTA TeleGuam was again prepared for the rigorous scrutiny.
\"Our stated commitment to customers is that GTA TeleGuam is \'Always There for You!\' with the best overall choice of total communications services and pricing,\" Certeza said. \"GTA TeleGuam employees truly do make a difference on service delivery.\"
Joint Region Marianas oversees support services, policies, and resources for U.S. Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Force Base. Rear Admiral Paul J. Bushong is commander of Joint Region Marianas. He is also commander of U.S. Naval Forces Marianas and U.S. Defense Representative to Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of Palau, and Federated States of Micronesia.
