Publish Date : 17-Dec-2011
Wednesday, CGI Group Inc., a company of information technology services announced that it has won a contract worth US$98 million to update West Virginia\'s financial, procurement, human resources and budgeting operations statewide.
CGI said the agreement is spread over eight years and will modernize operations for the state, one of the few in service without a deficit.
The Montreal-based firm stated: \"West Virginia will benefit from working with CGI\'s unrivalled government experts, providing a single point of accountability for software and services as it moves forward with its phased implementation.\"
CGI was awarded a contract worth US$93.7 million to construct the U.S. government\'s health insurance exchange to bring coverage to a predicted 34 million uninsured Americans, earlier this month.
CGI Group, which was established in 1976, is one of the biggest independent IT and business process services companies worldwide. It has workers in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific.
