PAKISTAN : IDB and PAKISTAN to develop $60 million Patrind hydropower project

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Pakistan has inked a lease finance(Ijara) agreement worth $60 million to develop the Patrind hydropower project.
Under the environment-friendly project, a net generation capacity of 147MW will be added to the national grid, which will support the utilization of Pakistan renewable resources to produce power in an economically sustainable manner and reduce dependency on imported fuel.
The project will be operational in 2016.
Ahmed Al Hariri on behalf of the IDB, while Farouk Javed, CEO, Star HydroPower Limited signed the agreement.
