UNITED KINGDOM : BAM RITCHIES awards Ł1.5 million contract to Balfour Beatty Utility

Bam Ritchies announced that it has awarded a contract Ł1.5 million to Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions to execute a ground investigation for a new 200km Scottish power transmission line.
The project for Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission, a subsidiary of SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) will include construction of a 400kV overhead power line from Beauly to Wharry Burn.
It is expected that the contract will be completed in spring 2012. The contract also has potential for a further Ł2 million worth of work to be awarded next year.
