SPAIN : T-Solar Group inks $145 million loan deals for PV plants in Peru

T-Solar Group, Spain based thin-film photovoltaic company, inked three loan deal of total $145 million.
With this loan, T-Solar Group will be able to develop two photovoltaic power plants in Peru.
US based Overseas Private Investment Corp., Netherlands based FMO and France based Proparco, will co-finance the projects, which have worth of more than $165 million. OPIC will offer up to $131 million in senior debt, which will be partly guaranteed by credit insurance company - Assured Guarantee. FMO and Proparco will offer up to $14.3 million in mezzanine debt for the projects.
T-Solar Group will construct two plants in Arequipa region in southern Peru. They will have a total capacity of 44MW. The deployments are likely to be linked to national grid by the second semester of 2012, generating 80GW hours of power annually. The solar farms will be company’s first large-scale solar photovoltaic energy projects in Latin America and will employ up to 113,600 thin-film amorphous hydrogenated-silicon modules developed by T-Solar\'s Orense factory in Spain.
