NEW ZEALAND : HEB secures $27.8M contract for Selwyn District Council

Papakura-based HEB Construction company has been awarded a contract worth $27.8 million for the construction of a new sewage treatment plant for Selwyn District Council.
Pines II Wastewater Treatment Plant works to commence from next week, and will have capacity to service expected growth in Christchurch\'s Prebbleton, Lincoln, Rolleston, West Melton and Springston span over the next three decades.
Paul Davey, Council Chief Executive said, \"Early access to sewerage will be provided to potential section owners and house builders and the equivalent of 4,000 Selwyn households will be taken off the stressed Christchurch city system.\"
As a part of Greater Christchurch Urban Development Strategy, and the Eastern Selwyn Sewerage Scheme plant is likely to cost about $80.7 million between 2011 and 2041.
