INDIA : Neyveli Lignite bags Rs.13,270.22 crore to expand thermal power projects TAMIL NADU

The Ministry of Coal said Tuesday Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited has taken on three thermal power projects valued at Rs.13,270.22 crore for further growth in Tamil Nadu.

In a statement, the ministry said the new projects consist of the growth of thermal power station TPS-II at Neyveli at an expected price of Rs.2,452.57 crore, the NTPL coal-based power station at Tuticorin at Rs.4,909.54 crore moreover the New Neyveli Thermal Power station at Neyveli at Rs.5,907.11 crore.

NTPL\'s partnership involves NLC and the state electricity board.

As the Neyveli project is likely to be concluded by July 2012, the Tuticorin project is planned to be concluded by January 2013 plus the New Neyveli project by December 2015.
