AUSTRALIA : UNIPART secures 7-year contract worth $1.4 billion from RAILCORP

Unipart Rail announced that it has been awarded a 7-year contract worth $1.4 billion, in conjunction with joint venture partner, UGL Limited, to supply fleet maintenance and logistics services to RailCorp in Sydney.
Under the contract, both the companies will offer heavy maintenance, engineering, and procurement and logistics management services for 1,050 of Sydney’s passenger car fleet.
The contract also has option to extend by up to five years, potentially generating an additional $900 million in revenue for the consortium.
John Clayton from Unipart Rail said, “This contract sees us joining our established supply chain and Lean expertise with UGL’s proven maintenance and engineering skills to deliver significant operational and financial benefits to RailCorp. We look forward to delivering success with our joint venture partner, UGL.”
