UGANDA : AfDB provides $67million for water supply project in Uganda

The water supply and sanitation in rural areas and small towns in Uganda will improve by 2016. Almost 2.4 million people will get the benefit.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) announced $67 million fund on January 12, 2012 for the purpose of implementing this Programme.

The bank stated that the project joins with nation in improving the water supply and sanitation which is expected to achieve completely by 2035.

\"The AfDB financed programme falls under the Joint Water and Sanitation Programme Support, a programme created by the government of Uganda in 2007 to address the remaining disparities in the national coverage of potable water and improved sanitation across and within districts and regions,\" the statement said.
