MONGOLIA : FLSmidth awarded copper concentrator contract worth US$ 105 million for mine in MONGOLIA

The Mongolian company, Mongolyn Alt (MAK) Group has awarded a contract to FLSmidth worth around US$ 105 million.

The contract is for the supply of a greenfield copper concentrator for a mine located around 500 kilometres from the capital city Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The scope of the contract includes supply of a 40,000 tonnes per day copper concentrator including proprietary FLSmidth technology for all processes in the plant.

FLSmidth will also be responsible for the supply of an automated control system, basic and detailed plant and process engineering and supervision, start-up and execution services.

According to Mr Jorgen Huno Rasmussen Group CEO, “Mongolia holds vast deposits of natural resources and being able to deliver state-of-the-art technology, as with this contract, we are able to strengthen our position and footprint in this increasingly important market. Our Mongolian activities will soon be supported by our new Super Service Centre under implementation.”
